🍔 Potluck BBQ @ 5:30 PM

🎬 Outdoor screening of Wicked! (gates open 7:00 PM, movie at dusk)

What SPOA provides

Burgers, hot dogs, condiments, bottled water, plus all plates & utensils.

What to bring

A side dish that serves 8–10 (salad, chips & dip, dessert—your call) and anything else that keeps you comfy for the movie (blanket, chair, light jacket).

Close out the summer series with a heart-warming adventure that’s perfect for dreamers big and small. The Wild Robot follows Roz, a robot who learns what it means to belong—an apt theme for our tight-knit mountain community. Gates open at 7 p.m.; the film rolls at sundown.

Bring layers for the cool evening air, your comfiest blanket or low-back chair, and a few bucks if you’d like concession goodies (cash only). As always, admission is free and all Big Bear Valley residents, visitors and four-legged friends on leash are welcome

SPOA 50th Anniversary Bash + “Star Wars”

Fifty trips around the sun calls for a celebration that’s out of this world!

🎉 6 p.m. – Anniversary party kicks off with a giant bounce house, “S’Mores-to-You” fire-pit station, and unlimited popcorn, sno-cones & cotton candy—all free, courtesy of the Sugarloaf Property Owners Association and Big Bear Valley Recreation & Park District.

Spread your blankets when gates open at 7 p.m.; then, as twilight settles over the pines, cue the opening crawl for Star Wars under the stars (movie at sundown).

  • Location: Sugarloaf Park, 44806 Park Ave.

  • Cost: Everything’s on us—just bring chairs/blankets (concessions for extra snacks are cash-only).

  • Who’s invited: The entire Big Bear Valley community—Jedi robes and loyal droids welcome!

Our guest speaker will be Glenn Jacklin, the NEW General Manager for CSD, who will share his vision for our community with regards to trash, sewer and water. Topics will include:

· Green waste removal options for CSD customers

· Managing wildlife and your trash cans

· Updates on California laws re: solid waste and recycling

· NEW SB County Supervisor funded drop off trash location for the East Valley
