Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - A Supercut of the Epic Anime Saga

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - A Supercut of the Epic Anime Saga

Berserk is a dark fantasy manga series by Kentaro Miura that has been adapted into various media, including anime, movies, video games, and novels. The story follows Guts, a mercenary warrior who joins the Band of the Hawk, a group of elite soldiers led by the charismatic Griffith. Together, they fight for the dream of conquering the war-torn kingdom of Midland. However, their fate takes a tragic turn when Griffith sacrifices his comrades to become a powerful demon lord.

One of the most popular and acclaimed arcs of Berserk is the Golden Age Arc, which covers the rise and fall of the Band of the Hawk. The arc was first adapted into a 25-episode anime series in 1997, and later into a trilogy of movies in 2012-2013. The movies are titled Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey, and Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent.

The movies feature stunning animation, brutal action, and emotional drama that faithfully capture the essence of the manga. However, some fans may prefer to watch a condensed version of the arc that combines the best parts of both the anime and the movies. That's where the supercut comes in.

A supercut is a fan-made edit that removes or rearranges scenes from a movie or a series to create a new version. In this case, a fan named The Golden Age Of Grasses created a supercut that merges the 1997 anime and the 2012 movie trilogy into one seamless experience. The supercut is titled Berserk (Dub) The Complete Golden Age. 1997 2012 Supercut[^1^] and it runs for about 7 hours and 50 minutes.

The supercut uses the English dub of both the anime and the movies, which features some of the same voice actors for the main characters. It also includes some scenes from the manga that were not animated in either adaptation. The supercut aims to make the most enjoyable way to watch the Golden Age Arc of Berserk without missing any important details or moments.

If you are interested in watching this supercut, you can download it from the Internet Archive[^1^] or watch it on YouTube[^2^]. You can also download or watch the original anime series[^3^] or movie trilogy[^4^] if you prefer. However you choose to watch it, be prepared for an epic and unforgettable journey into the world of Berserk.

Berserk is not only a manga series, but also a cultural phenomenon that has influenced many other works of fiction, such as video games, movies, anime, and novels. Some of the most notable examples are Dark Souls, The Witcher, Final Fantasy VII, Castlevania, Devilman, and Game of Thrones. Berserk has also inspired many artists and musicians, such as Miura's friend and colleague Hirohiko Araki (creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear Solid), Guillermo del Toro (director of Pan's Labyrinth and The Shape of Water), and Susumu Hirasawa (composer of the anime and movie soundtracks).

Berserk is also known for its long and irregular publication schedule, which has led to many hiatuses and delays over the years. The manga began in 1989 and has been serialized in Young Animal magazine since 1992. However, due to Miura's meticulous art style, health issues, and other factors, the manga has often gone on hiatus for months or even years at a time. The longest hiatus lasted from June 2018 to June 2020, with no new chapters released for two years. As of October 2022, the manga has 41 volumes published in Japan by Hakusensha and in North America by Dark Horse Comics.

Unfortunately, Miura passed away on May 6, 2021 at the age of 54 due to acute aortic dissection. His death was announced by his editorial department on May 20, 2021, shocking and saddening fans around the world. Miura left behind a legacy of one of the most influential and acclaimed manga series of all time, as well as an unfinished story that he had been working on for over three decades. His final chapter that he wrote and illustrated was published posthumously on September 10, 2021 in Young Animal magazine. The chapter was titled "Leaping Monkey" and featured Guts and his companions arriving at Elfhelm, the island of the elves.

However, Berserk is not over yet. On June 10, 2022, Young Animal magazine announced that the manga will resume publication under the supervision of Miura's fellow manga artist and childhood friend Kouji Mori [ ja] and Miura's group of assistants and apprentices from Studio Gaga. Mori is best known for his manga series Holyland and Suicide Island. Studio Gaga is Miura's own studio that he founded in 2009 to help him with his work on Berserk. The new chapter was titled "The Cherry Orchard" and featured Guts meeting Danan [ ja], the queen of the flower fairies.

The future of Berserk is uncertain, but fans can still hope that Miura's vision will be respected and fulfilled by his successors. Berserk is a masterpiece that deserves to be read and appreciated by generations to come. 0efd9a6b88
