Yesterday I got The Sims 4 in a physical store. Yesterday I installed the game on PC and was updated automatically. Upon completion of the update, there is a message saying that the game is ready to be played. However, when I start the game both by Origin, as the icon of the computer, there is a small download, but the game does not open. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and kept giving the same problem. What do you suggest me to solve NOTE: My notebook easily reaches the minimum requisites to be playing the game. I have much heavier games like FIFA 14 running smoothly.
This install is update friendly to 10.5.8, the volume knob and webcam work, card reader is untested and internal wireless will not work as of now (05/2010). A cheap workaround is a Netgear WG111v3 $40 at BB -- just download the drivers from Netgear's site. I upgraded the BIOS from Toshiba's site (requires a Windows install) but I dont think it made a difference, and added a bigger HD otherwise this is a stock laptop. The video fix was a major annoyance -- thanks to Flames for that fix and PLEASE do yourselves a favor and read his entire post linked above. PM rnorman33 on insanleymac forums if you need any help and good luck!
(0) From your computer (if it's an out-of-the-box use a live OS such as Ubuntu) create a partition and format it in "NTFS".(1) When booting from CD to install, hit F8 and enter Darwin Advanced Boot Options, type "-v -legacy platform=ACPI86pc" (without quotes) to enter installation.(2) When you enter setup, on the menu bar select "Utilities" and then "Disk Utility". Format the partition where you want to install MAC OS X in "HFS+ (Journaled)".(3) Packages to select: System (required), Bootloader:Chameleon2, /Extra, AppleDecrypt, Disabler, USB, Intel Speedstep (check all), Voodoo HDA Driver, Voodoo PS/2 Trackpad, Wired Network:Realtek R1000, Post-Install. Add languages you want but only one (selecting two additional languages will cause OS setup to crash before completion, resulting in being unable to boot).(4) Install.(5) If the OS doesn't boot from HDD, boot with "-v" option and note the last lines. Then:(5a) If it sticks at something with "....AHCI...", reboot, enter BIOS and set SATA Disks in "Compatibility" mode. (5b) If 5a doesn't work, try booting with "cpus=1".(5c) If 5a and 5b don't work, look up on google the last lines you notedI'm actually looking for any external driver for Wireless and Ethernet connection. I'm gonna update it as I find the right ones. 1e1e36bf2d
